A Prayer for N.
Prefigurations examines parallel material languages through which drawing and sculpture operate as distinct yet related modes of investigating matter, force, and spatial relation.
The project unfolds through a dual body of drawings and sculptural works that develop independently while engaging a shared conceptual field. The drawings, produced through repetitive and gestural linear processes, register movement, pressure, and accumulation as immediate inscriptions. In parallel, the sculptural works articulate similar conditions in space, where balance, tension, and structural instability become operative elements. Rather than establishing a hierarchical relation between the two, the project maintains their autonomy, allowing each medium to address different aspects of the same inquiry. Prefigurations thus operates as a field of preliminary formations, where material and spatial conditions emerge prior to stabilisation into fixed forms.
