Mihaela Vujnović (b. 1989, Croatia) is a visual artist based in Leipzig, Germany. She holds an MFA in Painting from ENSAN in France, as well as a BFA and a second MFA in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade.
Vujnović’s art practice unfolds as a visual experiment envisioning a post–climate change landscape. Her work positions art as a critical site for rethinking the ontological and ethical foundations of the future. Vujnović’s practice emerges from a constant engagement with objects and materials marked by decay, transformation, and renewal. In her studio, conceived as both archive and laboratory, she gathers and reconfigures organic fragments, discarded remnants, and photographic observations of natural and architectural forms. These elements evolve into hybrid compositions traversing sculpture, painting, ceramics, printmaking, photography, and drawing. Guided by the agency of matter itself, she often incorporates traces from past works into new formations, allowing each piece to become a tangible record of time and memory while articulating the subtle interplay between materiality and process-based practice.
